Fund Description

The fund was incepted in June 1986 and is managed by Hartford Investment Management Company. The fund seeks to maximize total return, to be derived primarily from current income exempt from federal income tax and from change in the market value of the securities held by the fund. The fund pursues its objective by primarily investing in securities that pay interest that is exempt from federal income tax. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in securities that generate interest that is not included in gross income for federal income tax purposes and is not an item of tax preference for purposes of the federal alternative minimum tax. The fund distributes dividends monthly and capital gains annually.
