Fund Description
The fund was incepted in June 2000 and is managed by Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company (WRIMCO). The objective of the fund is to seek appreciation of capital. The fund seeks to achieve its goal by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of common stocks issued by growth-oriented, large to medium sized U.S. and foreign companies that the management believes have appreciation possibilities. Growth stocks are those whose earnings WRIMCO believes are likely to grow faster than the economy. Although WRIMCO anticipates the majority of the fund's investments to be in large to medium sized companies, the fund may invest in companies of any size. Dividends and capital gains, if any, are distributed annually.
