Fund Description
The fund was incepted in October 1987 and is managed by John Hancock Advisers, LLC. The fund seeks high current income. Capital appreciation is a secondary goal. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in U.S and foreign fixed income securities rated BB/Ba or lower and their unrated equivalents. The fund may invest 10% of its total assets in securities that are rated in default by S&P or by Moody's. Dividends are declared daily and paid monthly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed annually.
