Fund Description

The fund was incepted in October 1949 and is managed by John Hancock Advisers, LLC. The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in equity securities of large capitalization companies. The fund may invest up to 20% of its assets in bonds of any maturity, with up to 15% of net assets in junk bonds rated as low as CC/Ca and their unrated equivalents. The fund may invest up to 25% of its assets in foreign securities. Dividends and capital gains are distributed annually.
