Fund Description

The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes in income-producing securities, primarily of real estate industry companies such as REITs, master limited partnerships and other real estate firms. It expects a significant portion of assets in preferred stock, and may also hold convertible preferred stock, debt obligations and other senior securities, as well as common stock, rights, warrants and limited partnership interests. The adviser uses a value-oriented approach emphasizing cash flow, asset valuations and management, and may use options strategies, including spreads, on stocks or indices to generate premium income or manage risk.
