Fund Description

The fund was incepted in June 2003 and is managed by Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC. The objective of the fund is to seek current income and the opportunity for capital appreciation to produce a high total return. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in a diversified portfolio of convertible securities issued by U.S. and foreign companies. The fund also invests in investment grade debt securities and lower-rated debt securities. The fund may invest up to 20% of its net assets in non-convertible fixed income securities, equity securities, including common stocks and preferred stocks and up to 20% of its net assets in foreign securities that are primarily traded outside the United States. The fund distributes dividends quarterly. Capital gains, if any are distributed annually.
