Fund Description
The fund was incepted in October 1976 and is managed by Federated Investment Management Company. The fund's investment objective is to provide for its shareholders a high level of current income, which is exempt from federal regular income tax. The fund pursues its objective by investing its assets in a portfolio of tax exempt securities so that at least 80% of the income that it distributes will be exempt from federal regular income tax. Interest income from the fund's investments may be subject to the federal alternative minimum tax for individuals and corporations (AMT). The fund invests primarily in long-term, investment grade tax exempt securities. The fund offers dividends monthly and capital gains annually.
