Fund Description

The fund was incepted in May 1991 and is managed by Loomis, Sayles & Company, L.P. The fund seeks high total investment return through a combination of current income and capital appreciation. The fund invests substantially all its assets in securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government or its authorities, agencies or instrumentalities (U.S. government securities), and in certificates representing undivided interests in the interest or principal of U.S. Treasury securities. At least 65% of the fund's total assets are invested in U.S. government securities. Dividends are paid quarterly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed annually.
