Fund Description

Limited Term Tax-Exempt Bond Fund of America, Class A was incepted in October 1993 and is managed by Capital Research and Management Company. The objective of the fund is to seek current income exempt from federal income taxes consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund invests primarily in state, municipal and public authority bonds and notes rated in the top four categories at the time of purchase. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in tax-exempt securities, and may invest up to 20% of its assets in bonds subject to the alternative minimum tax. The fund may invest up to 35% of its assets in bonds rated BAA/BBB at the time of purchase. The fund offers dividends monthly. Capital gains, if any, are usually distributed in November or December.
