Fund Description
The fund was incepted in April 1983 and is managed by Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation through worldwide investment in equity securities of companies that, in the opinion of the fund management, derive or are expected to derive a substantial portion of their sales from products and services in healthcare. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in healthcare companies. The fund seeks to invest in companies that it believes have good prospects for earnings growth. The fund may invest up to 15% of its assets in venture capital investments in developmental stage companies. The fund may invest without limit in foreign securities. Dividends and capital gains are distributed annually.
