Fund Description

The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets, including any borrowings for investment purposes, in stocks of growth companies that MFS believes have above average earnings growth potential compared to other companies, based on factors such as index inclusion, third-party classification, and historical and/or projected growth rates relative to the applicable equity market. Stocks include common stocks and other securities representing an ownership interest (or right to acquire one). It primarily invests in large-cap companies, may invest in foreign securities, may concentrate in a single industry or sector, and may hold significant positions in a single issuer or a small number of issuers. MFS uses an active bottom-up approach based primarily on fundamental analysis and may consider quantitative screening tools.
