Fund Description

The fund, under normal circumstances, invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities of small-cap companies, defined as those within the market-cap range of the Russell 2000 Value Index at the time of initial purchase, and may sell holdings that move outside that range but is not required to do so. It emphasizes a value style, seeking companies viewed as undervalued versus peers due to economic, market, company-specific or other factors, and may focus in certain sectors such as financials. Empower Capital Management selects and monitors sub-advisers Hotchkis & Wiley and Loomis Sayles, maintains a strategic allocation of the fund's assets to each sub-adviser and reviews the allocations on a quarterly basis, or more frequently as deemed necessary, and may change the allocations at any time without shareholder notice or approval.
