Fund Description

The fund was incepted in March 1994 and is managed by Neuberger Berman Management. The fund seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund invests in solid, undervalued companies that are also good corporate citizens. The fund normally invests in mid and large-capitalization companies having solid balance sheets, strong management, consistent cash flows, and low price-to-earnings and price-to-book ratios. Besides these qualities, the companies are screened for social criteria. In the manager's opinion, corporate social responsibility can enhance a company's bottom line. Ideal investment candidates show leadership in major areas of social impact, such as the environment, workplace and community. They also consider companies' records in other areas, such as public health and the impact of their products. The fund distributes capital gains and dividends annually (in December).
