Fund Description

The fund was incepted in June 1996 and is managed by PIMCO Advisers. The objective of this fund is to seek maximum total return, consistent with preservation of capital and prudent investment management. The fund invest at least 80% of its assets in Fixed Income Instruments of issuers that economically are tied to countries with emerging securities markets. Such securities are denominated in non-U.S. currencies and the U.S. dollar. A security is economically tied to an emerging market country if it is principally traded on the country's securities markets, or the issuer is organized or principally operates in the country, derives a majority of its income from its operations within the country, or has a majority of its assets in the country. Dividends are declared daily and distributed monthly. The fund offers capital gains annually.
