Fund Description
The fund was incepted in February 1994 and is managed by Safeco Asset Management Company. The fund seeks to provide as high a level of total return as is consistent with relative stability of capital through the purchase of investment-grade debt securities. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in investment-grade municipal bonds with maturities of more than one year and whose interest is exempt from federal income tax. The fund may invest up to 20% of its assets in unrated municipal bonds, as long as the advisor determines they are of comparable quality to investment-grade securities. The fund declares dividends, if any, daily and pays them monthly. Capital gain distributions are done twice a year.
