Fund Description

The fund was incepted in October1969 and is managed by J&W Seligman & Co. Incorporated. The fund seeks to achieve capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in the common stock of medium-sized US companies. The fund may invest up to 15% of its net assets in illiquid securities (i.e., securities that cannot be readily sold) and up to 10% directly in foreign securities. The fund also invests in preferred stocks, securities convertible into common stocks, common stock rights or warrants, and debt securities if the investment manager believes they offer capital appreciation opportunities. Dividends and capital gains are distributed annually.
