Fund Description

The fund was incepted in March 1995. Under the supervision of a Board of Trustees, Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc. acts as the investment advisor for the fund. The fund seeks a high level of income consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in investment-grade short-term fixed income securities. These include short-term US Treasury, corporate, mortgage-backed and asset-backed, taxable municipal and tax-exempt municipal bonds. In selecting investments, the fund's advisors focus on identifying securities and sectors of the short-term fixed income marketplace, which they believe are undervalued relative to the market rather than rely on interest rate forecasting to select securities for investment. The fund distributes dividends monthly and capital gains annually.
