Fund Description
The fund was incepted in September 1993 and is managed by Wellington Management Company. The fund seeks to provide a higher current income than that typically offered by a money market fund while maintaining liquidity. The fund invests substantially all (at least 80%) of its net assets in investment grade obligations of U.S. issuers, including commercial paper and other corporate obligations, certificates of deposit, time deposits, bankers' acceptances and bank notes of U.S. commercial banks or savings and loans institutions that meet certain asset requirements, U.S. Treasury obligations and obligations issued or guaranteed as to principal and interest by agencies or instrumentalities of the U.S. government, mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities and fully collateralized repurchase agreements involving any of the foregoing obligations. Dividends are distributed monthly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed annually.
