Fund Description
The fund was incepted in July 1970 and is managed by Ruane, Cunniff & Co., Inc. The fund seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund focuses principally on common stocks that it believes are undervalued at the time of purchase and has the potential for growth. The fund invests in U.S. companies; it also may invest in foreign securities (typically the fund does not hold any significant investment in foreign securities and in no event will it invest more than 15% of the fund's assets in foreign securities). The fund is not required to be fully invested in common stocks.
