Fund Description
The fund was incepted in September 1986 and is managed by Smith Barney Fund Management. The objective of the fund is to seek high current income. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in high-yield corporate bonds, debentures and notes of U.S. and foreign issuers for their potentially high levels of income. The fund invests in fixed income securities denominated either in U.S. dollars or foreign currencies, and may also invest up to 40% of its assets in fixed income securities issued by foreign companies, including those in developing countries. The fund generally pays dividends monthly and makes capital gain distributions, if any, once a year, typically in December.
