Fund Description

The fund was incepted in April 1997 and is managed by J&W Seligman & Co. Inc. The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund generally invests at least 80% of its net assets in the common stocks of 'value 'companies with large market capitalization of $2 billion or more. The fund may invest up to 15% of its net assets in illiquid securities and up to 10% of its total assets in foreign securities. The fund generally pays dividends and capital gains, if any, annually.
