Fund Description

The fund was incepted in March 1991 and is managed by Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc. The fund seeks total return, with an emphasis on current income; capital appreciation is a secondary goal. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in bonds of issuers from around the world, including the United States. The fund normally invests at least 65% of its total assets in investment-grade bonds. Dividends are declared daily and paid monthly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed in December.
