Fund Description

The fund maintains a defined asset allocation, seeking to stay near targets of approximately 60% equity, 36% fixed income, and 4% cash and cash equivalents (including money market funds). Equity is allocated across U.S. large-cap (33%), U.S. small-cap (6%), developed international large-cap (13%), real estate (3%), developed international small-cap (2.5%), and emerging markets (2.5%). It invests mainly in affiliated Schwab index funds and ETFs that track or replicate market indices, may use sampling, derivatives, and securities lending, and may temporarily hold up to 100% in cash and short-term instruments.
