Fund Description

The fund was incepted in March 1993 and is managed by Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. The fund seeks current income by primarily investing in a diversified portfolio of debt instruments that is designed to track the performance of the Lehman Brothers U.S. Aggregate Bond Index. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in debt instruments of varying maturities. The fund primarily invests in investment-grade instruments and may invest more than 5% of its assets in high yield securities (junk bonds). The fund may invest in fixed, variable or floating rate instruments. The fund declares dividends every business day and pays it on the last business day of every month. Capital gains are distributed annually.
