Fund Description
The fund was incepted in September 1992 and is managed by Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. The fund seeks high current income consistent with capital preservation and exempt from federal income tax. To pursue its goal, the fund primarily invests in investment-grade municipal securities. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in municipal securities, the interest from which is free from federal income tax (including federal alternative minimum tax). The fund declares dividends every business day and pays it on the last business day of every month. Capital gains are distributed annually.
