Fund Description

The fund generally invests in stocks included in the Russell 2000 Index and, under normal circumstances, invests at least 80% of net assets (including borrowings for investment purposes) in these stocks, typically considerably more, with at least 60 days' notice to shareholders before changing this policy. It seeks to replicate index performance by matching index weights, but may adjust weightings for odd-lot avoidance, tax, or liquidity considerations, and may trade ahead of anticipated index additions or removals. It may use derivatives, principally futures, and lend securities to help minimize performance gaps from cash holdings and expenses, and may concentrate in industries to the extent the index is concentrated.
