Fund Description

The fund generally invests in stocks included in the Dow Jones U.S. Total Stock Market Index and, under normal circumstances, invests at least 80% of its net assets (including borrowings for investment purposes) in these stocks, with at least 60 days' shareholder notice before changing this policy. It generally weights holdings to match the index but may adjust weightings to avoid odd-lots, for tax reasons, or to address liquidity. It may sell securities represented in the index in anticipation of their removal, or buy securities not yet represented in anticipation of their addition. It uses sampling techniques and generally holds the largest 2,000 to 2,800 U.S. stocks by float-adjusted market capitalization. It may use derivatives, principally futures, and lend securities to help minimize performance gaps from cash holdings and expenses, and may concentrate in industries to the extent the index is concentrated.
