Fund Description
Incepted in April 1994, the fund is managed by The Consulting Group, a division of Smith Barney Fund Management LLC. The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities of issuers located in countries with emerging markets, defined as a country having per capita income in the low to middle ranges, as determined by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the World Bank). To diversify its investments, the fund invests primarily in securities of issuers located in at least three foreign countries. The fund may also invest a portion of its assets in closed-end investment companies that invest in emerging markets. The fund distributes dividends and capital gains annually.
