Fund Description

The fund was incepted in November 2000 and is managed by Van Kampen Investment Advisory Corp. The objective of this fund is to seek capital appreciation. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in securities of small companies at the time of investment. The fund invests primarily in common stocks and other equity securities of small companies that the fund's manager believes have above average potential for capital appreciation. The fund's investment adviser uses a ''bottom-up'' stock selection process seeking attractive growth opportunities on an individual company basis. The fund may invest up to 25% of its assets in securities of foreign issuers. The fund offers dividends and capital gains at least annually.
