Fund Description
Vanguard Explorer Fund, Investor Shares was incepted in December 1967 and is managed by the Chartwell Investment Partners, Granahan Investment Management, Inc., Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo and Co., The Vanguard Group and Wellington Management Company. The objective of this fund is to seek long-term growth of capital. The fund invests mainly in the stocks of small companies (which, at the time of purchase, typically have a market value of less than $2 billion). These companies tend to be unseasoned but are considered by the fund's advisers to have superior growth potential. These companies often provide little or no dividend income. The fund distributes dividends and capital gains in December.
