Fund Description
The fund was incepted in August 1990 and is managed by Van Kampen Investment Advisory Corp. The objective of the fund is to provide a high level of current income exempt from federal income tax, consistent with preservation of capital. The fund invests primarily in municipal securities rated investment grade at the time of investment or unrated municipal securities believed by the fund's investment adviser to be of comparable quality (20% may consist of securities rated below investment grade). The fund invests at least 80% of the fund's total assets in investment grade municipal securities. The fund offers dividends monthly and capital gains annually.
