Fund Description
The fund was incepted in June 1999 and is managed by Van Kampen Investment Advisory Corp. The objective of this fund is to seek capital appreciation. The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of equity securities of small-capitalization companies that the fund's investment adviser believes are undervalued. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in small capitalization companies at the time of investment. The fund's investment adviser uses a ''bottom-up'' stock selection process that focuses on individual stock selection over economic and industry trends. The fund may invest up to 25% of its assets in securities of foreign issuers. Up to 5% of the fund's net assets may be invested in convertible securities that are below investment grade quality. The fund offers dividends and capital gains at least annually.
