Fund Description

The fund was incepted in June 2001 and is managed by Van Kampen Asset Management. The objective of the fund is to seek capital growth and income. Under normal market conditions, the fund's investment adviser seeks to achieve the fund's investment objective by investing primarily in a non-diversified portfolio of common stocks and other equity securities of value companies. The fund invests in unseasoned issuers or in securities involving special circumstances, such as initial public offerings, companies with new management or management reliant upon one or a few key people, special products and techniques, limited or cyclical product lines, services, markets or resources or unusual developments, such as acquisitions, mergers, liquidations, bankruptcies or leveraged buyouts. Up to 5% of the fund's net assets may be invested in convertible securities that are below investment grade quality. The fund offers dividends and capital gains annually.
