Fund Description
The fund was incepted in September 1977 and is managed by the Vanguard Group. The fund seeks income exempt from federal tax. The fund invests primarily in high-quality municipal securities with an average maturity of 12 to 25 years. The fund pursues a higher level of income than that provided by comparable funds. Dividends are distributed monthly and capital gains, if any, are distributed in December.
