Fund Description
The fund was incepted in December 1988 and is managed by Wallace R. Weitz & Company. The fund seeks high current income consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund invests at least 80% of its total assets in fixed income securities such as U.S. government and agency securities, corporate debt securities, mortgage-backed securities, preferred stock and taxable municipal bonds. The fund may invest up to 15% of its total assets in securities, which are non-investment grade or unrated, if such securities are of comparable quality to the rated securities of the fund. Dividends and capital gains, if any, are distributed quarterly.
