Fund Description
The fund was incepted in September 1992 and is managed by Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company (WRIMCO). The fund seeks growth of capital. The fund seeks to achieve its goal by investing primarily in common stocks of domestic and foreign companies whose market capitalizations are within the range of capitalizations of companies included in the Lipper Small Cap Category (small cap stocks). The fund emphasizes relatively new or unseasoned companies in their early stages of development or smaller companies positioned in new or emerging industries where there is opportunity for rapid growth. Dividends and capital gains, if any, are distributed annually.
