The next interesting item to ponder is Q2 GDP that comes out Friday morning at 8:30am ET. It seems that most of the credible estimates are in a fairly tight range:
+2.6% Econoday consensus
+2.8% GDPNow model from Atlanta Fed
+2.8% Blue Chip Economists panel
I think there are decent odds to come in a notch above which could provide that final boost to get to 2500. Yes, a big time miss would take a lot of starch out of the recent stock advance. However, the chance of that is low.
Expect proof of accelerated growth with more stock gains to follow.
