Previously, Avantor reported financial results in three geographic segments based on customer location — the Americas (58.4% of total revenues in 2023, down 8.9% from 2022), Europe (34.7%, down 3.8%) and AMEA (Asia, Middle-East and Africa) (6.8%, down 9.4%).
Avantor will transition from three geographic segments to two complementary business segments focused on customer needs, Laboratory Solutions and Bioscience Production, effective Jan 1, 2024.
In Laboratory Solutions (68% of FY23 revenues), it will provide a platform of products and services to support its customers' research, diagnostic and QC workflows. In the Bioscience Production segment (32%), it will support its customers' production platforms by providing high-purity materials for bioprocessing, ultra-high purity silicone for medical implants and custom formulations for semiconductor and advanced technology applications.
