Refining: The key Refining segment manufactures, processes and sells gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, asphalt and other petroleum-based products. Delek owns and operates four refineries, with a combined crude oil processing capacity of 302,000 barrels per day (Bbl/d), located in Tyler, TX (accounting for approximately 25% of the company’s total refining capacity), El Dorado, AR (26%), Big Spring, TX (24%), and Krotz Springs, LA (25%). The segment also includes two biodiesel facilities in Crossett, AR and Cleburne, TX, together with a heavy crude oil refinery in Bakersfield, CA. In 2023 the Refining segment accounted for approximately 97% of the company’s net revenue.
Logistics: The Logistics segment includes Delek’s 79.8% limited partner interest in Delek Logistics Partners, L.P. and a 94.6% interest in Delek Logistics GP, LLC – that owns the entire 2% general partner interest in Delek Logistics. The segment is engaged in the gathering, transportation, storage and distribution of crude oil, intermediate products, feedstocks and refined products, and is also into wholesale marketing. The Logistics unit also owns/leases capacity on several miles of crude and refined product transportation pipelines, oil gathering system and related storage tanks, apart from owning and operating nine light product distribution terminals. For the year ended December 31, 2023, the Logistics unit contributed 6% of Delek’s net revenue.
Retail: The Retail segment – following the acquisition of Alon USA Energy, Inc. last year – distributes motor fuels and merchandise items to wholesale and retail customers, as well as to commercial end-users through a network of 300 branded retail outlets, primarily in west Texas and New Mexico, under brand names like ‘Alon’ and ‘7-Eleven’. In 2023, the Retail segment accounted for approximately 5.2% of the company’s net revenue.
As of Dec 31, 2023, Delek US Holdings had cash and cash equivalents worth $822 million and long-term debt of $2.6 billion.
