Lincoln Electric produces three types of arc welding electrodes, including stick electrodes, solid electrodes used for continuous feeding in mechanized welding, and cored electrodes that are also used for mechanized welding. Arc welding is carried out in many industries. The metal working field involves production of arc welding in transportation, construction, fabrication, petrochemical and other industries.
The company's business units are aligned into three operating segments-
The Americas Welding segment (66% of 2023 revenues) includes welding operations in North and South America.
The International Welding (26%) segment includes welding operations in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
The Harris Products Group (12%) includes the company’s global cutting, soldering and brazing businesses, and retail business in the United States.
On Apr 1, 2024, the company acquired 100% ownership of Superior Controls, LLC (RedViking), a privately held automation system integrator based in Plymouth, MI. On May 3, 2023, the company acquired full ownership of Powermig, a privately held automation engineering firm headquartered in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. On Dec 1, 2022, the company had acquired 100% ownership of Fori Automation, LLC. On Mar 1, 2022, the company acquired 100% ownership of Kestra, a privately held manufacturer headquartered in Atibaia, Sao Paulo State, Brazil.
In July 2021, Lincoln Electric acquired Overstreet-Hughes Company, Inc. (or Fabricated Tube Products) and Shoals Tubular, Inc. (“Shoals”). Fabricated Tube Products and Shoals manufacture copper and aluminum headers, distributor assemblies and manifolds in the United States and Mexico for the HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning
