Fund Description

The fund was incepted in October 1987 and is managed by the Berger Financial Group. This fund is closed to new investors as on March 31, 2000. Recently, Berger Funds' Trustees have approved the reorganization of this fund with into newly created fund in the Janus fund family, with identical investment objectives and substantially similar investment policies; subject to shareholder approval in March 2003 shareholders meeting. The fund aims for capital appreciation. The fund primarily invests in the common stocks of small companies whose stock prices are believed to be undervalued. The fund's securities selection focuses on companies that are out of favor with markets or have not yet been discovered by the broader investment community. Dividends and capital gains are distributed in December.
