Fund Description

The fund invests at least 80% of net assets in securities of, and depositary receipts represented by, Japanese issuers tied economically to Japan, including issuers organized under Japanese law, listed on Japanese exchanges, deriving at least 50% of revenue from goods or services produced or sold in Japan, issued by Japanese government entities, or issuing yen-denominated securities. It invests primarily in Japanese equity and debt, including common and preferred stock and convertibles, across market capitalizations, and may use ADRs, EDRs, GDRs, and similar instruments, and may invest in shares of other investment companies, including open-end and closed-end funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Debt investments may include obligations regardless of credit quality and whether rated or unrated, including below-investment-grade securities. It may borrow for cash management.
