Fund Description

The fund was incepted in September 1995 and is managed by Dreyfus Corporation. The fund seeks to surpass the performance of the Russell Midcap Value Index. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in the stocks of midcap companies. The fund's stock investments include common stocks, preferred stocks and convertible securities of both U.S. and foreign issuers, including those purchased in initial public offerings. Dividends and capital gains are distributed annually.
