Fund Description

The fund invests at least 80% of net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in dividend-paying common stocks and dividend-paying or interest-bearing securities convertible into common stock. It invests primarily in large-cap stocks but may invest across market capitalizations, including smaller companies, and may hold non-income producing securities. Up to 20% may be in fixed income, including up to 10% in BBB/Baa or below and unrated securities deemed comparable. It may invest up to 35% of total assets in foreign securities, including emerging markets, and, as an alternative to holding foreign stocks directly, it may invest in U.S. dollar-denominated securities of foreign companies that trade on U.S. exchanges or in the over-the-counter market, including depositary receipts such as ADRs and global depositary receipts. It may invest in ETFs, REITs, lend securities, and use derivatives for return, hedging, or income.
