Fund Description

The fund was incepted in October 1995 and is managed by Federated Investment Management Company. The fund's investment objective is to pursue total return consistent with current income. The fund's total return consists of two components, one changes in the market value of its portfolio securities (both realized and unrealized appreciation) and two income received from its portfolio securities. The fund expects that income will comprise the largest component of its total return. The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of securities that are issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government and its agencies or instrumentalities, including mortgage backed securities that are issued by U.S. government agencies or instrumentalities. The fund offers dividends monthly and capital gains annually.
