Fund Description

Incepted in July 1998, the fund is managed by Mellon Fund Advisers. The fund seeks long-term capital growth. To pursue its goal, the fund normally invests at least 65% of its total assets in equity securities of foreign issuers. The fund also primarily invests in companies, which the investment adviser considers to be "value" companies. The fund may invest in companies of any size. To a limited extent, the fund may invest in debt securities of foreign issuers. Though not specifically limited, the fund ordinarily invests in companies in at least ten foreign countries, and limits its investments in any single company to no more than 5% of its assets at the time of purchase. The fund distributes dividends and capital gains annually.
