Fund Description
The fund was incepted in August 1983 and is managed by U.S. Global Investors, Inc. The fund seeks long-term growth of capital plus protection against inflation and monetary instability. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in the equity securities of companies within the natural resource industry. The fund invests without limitation in the various sectors of the natural resource industry, such as oil, gas, and basic materials. The fund also invests in long-term equity options called LEAPS (long-term equity anticipation securities). Dividends and capital gains, if any, are distributed annually in December.
