Fund Description

The fund was incepted in May 1984 and is managed by American Express Financial Corporation. The fund seeks growth of capital and income. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities. The fund focuses primarily on large-capitalization stocks believed to be attractively priced compared to the rest of market. These so-called 'value' stocks may be currently out of favor in the marketplace and offer the opportunity to buy at a lower price. The fund emphasizes stocks that provide dividend income and long-term growth potential. The fund offers dividends quarterly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed by the end of calendar year.
