Fund Description

The fund was incepted in January 1987 and is managed by Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc. The fund seeks to provide a high level of income exempt from regular federal income tax. Under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets are invested in securities issued by municipalities across the United States and in other securities whose income is free from regular federal income tax. The fund may invest up to 20% of its assets in securities whose income is subject to alternative minimum tax (AMT). Dividends are declared daily and paid monthly. Capital gains are distributed in November or December.
