Fund Description

The fund was incepted in March 1961 and is managed by State Street Research & Management Company. The fund seeks to provide long-term growth of capital. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its total assets in large-cap stocks and convertible securities that have long-term growth potential. The fund reserves the right to invest up to 20% of its total assets in other securities. These may include U.S. government securities and investment grade corporate bonds. The fund typically distributes any net income and net capital gains to shareholders around the end of the fund's fiscal year, which is December 31.
